(WNY News Now) – Syracuse – A pre-dawn shooting in Syracuse has left a 20-year-old man hospitalized with a gunshot wound, as police launch an investigation into the incident.

In the early hours of Tuesday, August 27th, Syracuse Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Beattie Street and Niven Street following reports of a shooting. The call came in at approximately 4:16 a.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 20-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to his thigh. Emergency services transported the victim to Upstate University Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, and the Syracuse Police Department has initiated a thorough investigation to determine the motive and identify any suspects involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
