(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A Southside Jamestown domestic incident escalated to arrests after police discovered two parents under the influence of methamphetamine while caring for three children.
On August 24, 2024, at approximately 6:08 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to a residence in the city’s Southside for a reported domestic incident. Upon arrival, authorities encountered 32-year-old Rebecca Blue and 25-year-old Damion Carlson, both residents of Jamestown, NY.
During the investigation, officers determined that Blue and Carlson were severely impaired by methamphetamine. The couple was responsible for the care of Blue’s three underage children at the time. Concerned for the children’s safety, the officers took immediate action, arresting Blue and Carlson.
Both individuals were charged with three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. They were transported to Jamestown City Jail, where they are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. Fortunately, the children were unharmed and have been placed in the care of a family member. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
