(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, N.Y. – A significant untreated water discharge has affected several Buffalo-area waterways following a heavy rainfall.

On Saturday the Buffalo Sewer Authority reports that 1,041,000 gallons of untreated water were discharged into Black Rock Canal, Scajaquada Creek, Buffalo River, and Niagara River due to a 0.24-inch rainfall. The discharge lasted 24 hours, impacting local water systems.
