(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A Jamestown man is facing serious felony charges after a domestic dispute involving the violation of a court-issued protection order.
In the early hours of September 15, 2024, Jamestown police responded to a suspicious situation on the city’s west side, which quickly escalated into a domestic dispute. Kieran J. Hunt, 33, is accused of violating a full stay-away order of protection during the incident.
According to police reports, Hunt arrived at the victim’s residence and attempted to forcibly enter by kicking the door. The victim, who had a protection order against Hunt, was unharmed during the incident. By the time officers arrived, Hunt had fled the scene.
Police later located Hunt at a downtown establishment, where he again attempted to evade capture by fleeing into the basement. After a brief search, officers apprehended him. Hunt was charged with Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree, a felony, for violating the court order. Additionally, he had several outstanding warrants that were addressed upon his arrest.
Hunt was transported to Jamestown City Jail and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
