(WNY News Now) – Hanover – A dispute on Angell Road in Silver Creek led to the arrest of a local woman accused of striking another individual, prompting charges of harassment.

On the morning of September 16, 2024, at approximately 10:12 AM, deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to an altercation on Angell Road in the Town of Hanover. Upon arriving, authorities conducted an investigation that revealed Christine L. Gard, a 44-year-old Silver Creek resident, had allegedly struck another individual in the face during the dispute.

As a result, Gard was taken into custody and charged with harassment in the second degree under New York Penal Law 240.26(1), which pertains to physical or verbal actions that cause harm or fear of harm to another person. After her arrest, Gard was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail where she awaits arraignment in Hanover Town Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
