(WNY News Now) – Olean – As the autumn season approaches, Olean’s Common Council has decided to close park restrooms starting October 1, 2024, while encouraging residents to report vandalism.
The City of Olean will officially close all restrooms in city parks effective Tuesday, October 1, 2024. This decision comes in light of recurring issues with vandalism and is outlined in Common Council Resolution #58-24.
The restrooms in Lincoln Park will remain accessible during downtown events throughout the offseason, ensuring that visitors can enjoy public amenities during scheduled activities. However, city officials emphasize the need for increased vigilance as vandalism has plagued restroom facilities across multiple parks.
Residents are urged to remain alert and report any suspicious behavior or incidents to the Olean Police Department.
