(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – A late-night domestic dispute on Jamestown’s south side led to the arrest of a man wanted in Pennsylvania, sparking a brief foot chase with local police.
In the early hours of September 30, 2024, Jamestown Police responded to a domestic incident at a residence on the city’s south side. Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 1:56 a.m., where they encountered 44-year-old Larry L. Hicks and the victim involved in the dispute.
According to police reports, Hicks had forcibly taken the victim’s purse, causing damage in the process. As officers investigated, they discovered Hicks had an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Pennsylvania State Police.
When police attempted to take Hicks into custody, he fled the scene on foot. A brief pursuit followed, during which Hicks physically resisted arrest. Officers quickly apprehended him and transported him to the Jamestown City Jail.
Hicks now faces charges of Fugitive from Justice (Felony), Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree (Misdemeanor), and Resisting Arrest (Misdemeanor). He remains in custody awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
