(WNY News Now) – A domestic disturbance in Jamestown led to the arrest of Raymond Medina, 19, on methamphetamine distribution charges.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – A Jamestown resident, Raymond Medina, 19, faces serious federal charges after his arrest for methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute. U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced the arrest, noting that Medina could face up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine if convicted.

The arrest stems from a February 28, 2024, incident when Jamestown Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at an 8th Street residence. Medina was involved in the dispute, despite a valid order of protection against him by the resident, issued by Jamestown City Court. Medina is well known to local law enforcement, with several previous encounters that prompted officer safety alerts.

Upon contact with officers, Medina became combative and attempted to flee. Officers pursued him on foot and eventually apprehended him. Along the escape route, officers recovered methamphetamine, packaged for sale.

The investigation was conducted by the Jamestown Police Department, led by Chief Timothy Jackson, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), under Special Agent-in-Charge Frank A. Tarentino III of the New York Field Division.

As with all criminal charges, Medina is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
