(WNY News Now) – A routine response to a car accident in the Town of Hanover led to the arrest of Daniel J. Pelsey Jr. for driving while intoxicated on October 6, 2024.
Hanover, N.Y. – On the evening of October 6, 2024, at approximately 7:18 PM, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident in the Town of Hanover. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies identified the driver as 56-year-old Daniel J. Pelsey Jr. of Irving, NY.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers determined that Pelsey was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. In addition to the driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge, he was also cited for failing to keep right and for refusing to take a breath test.
Pelsey was taken into custody and later released with tickets. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date to address the charges against him. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
