(WNY News Now) – A Syracuse woman is recovering after being stabbed on Dickerson Street, with police swiftly arresting the suspect.

Syracuse, N.Y. – On the afternoon of Monday, October 14th, 2024, Syracuse Police responded to a distress call at 122 Dickerson Street regarding a stabbing incident. Officers arrived at the scene at approximately 2:36 p.m. to find a 32-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds to her upper back.

The victim was promptly transported to Upstate Hospital Emergency Room by American Medical Response (AMR). Her injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and she is expected to make a full recovery.

Authorities arrested 48-year-old Star Dugger, also of Syracuse, in connection with the stabbing. Dugger was taken into custody and lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center. She faces charges of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, both violations of New York State Penal Law.

The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the incident. They are urging anyone with information about the attack to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
