(WNY News Now) – A late-night traffic stop in Napoli resulted in the arrest of a Randolph woman for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after refusing a breath test.

Napoli, N.Y. – On October 12, 2024, at approximately 10:43 p.m., law enforcement responded to reports of a vehicle driving erratically on Route 242 near Lower Edgar Road in Napoli, New York. Upon arrival, patrol officers located the vehicle near the Department of Public Works (DPW) in Little Valley and observed several traffic violations.

The driver, identified as Ella J. Evans, 36, of Randolph, NY, was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) after officers determined she was under the influence. Evans refused to submit to a breath analysis test following the traffic stop.

Evans was subsequently arraigned in Little Valley Town Court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Napoli Town Court later this month to address the charges, including DWI under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) 1192.3 and failure to maintain lane under VTL 1120A. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
