(WNY News Now) – A Niagara Falls resident received a 22-year sentence after pleading guilty to manslaughter in a deadly New Year’s Day attack, as well as a second stabbing just days earlier.

LOCKPORT, NY — Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced the sentencing of 36-year-old Dominique L. Castile, a Niagara Falls resident, to 22 years in state prison. Castile pleaded guilty to charges of Manslaughter in the First Degree and Assault in the Second Degree in connection with two separate stabbing incidents.

On January 1, 2023, Castile fatally stabbed 33-year-old Stefhon Hilson. The brutal attack occurred just five days after another stabbing on December 27, 2022, in which Castile injured another individual. Both incidents were thoroughly investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department.

First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney David DeChellis led the prosecution in the case.
