(WNY News Now) – Young professionals and entrepreneurs looking to enhance their financial literacy will have a valuable opportunity at the upcoming “Think and Drink” event hosted by the Jamestown Young Professionals (JYP) on Monday, October 21.
Jamestown, NY – Young professionals and entrepreneurs interested in financial insights for their businesses and side hustles will appreciate the upcoming “Think and Drink” event being organized by Jamestown Young Professionals (JYP).
On Monday, October 21, JYP will hold a panel discussion titled “How To Get Your Cash Flow Working For You,” which will deliver practical, real-world advice for those interested.
In recent months, the JYP Planning Committee surveyed its membership and they identified finances as the premier topic of interest. At this event, the panel will equip attendees with ideas and options for optimizing cash flow, managing personal and business finances as well as building a foundation for growth.
“It’s not just about hearing from experts, it’s about walking away with actionable tools you can immediately put to work,” said Katie Castro, Director of Advancement for the United Ways of Chautauqua County. “This panel is designed for professionals who want to take their career, business, and financial goals to the next level. Our members have expressed a need for this kind of information, and we’re thrilled to bring them a lineup of experts who can provide real, usable advice.”
The “Think and Drink” panel will take place upstairs at Wicked Warren’s in Jamestown on Monday, Oct. 21, beginning at 5pm.

“We wanted to ensure these type of panel events are tailored to our members’ needs, so we will continue to survey membership about what’s most important to them,” said Graham Soffel, member of JYP’s Planning Committee and real estate agent and business development manager for ERA Team VP Real Estate. “Our goal is to offer participants the tools they need to immediately put what they learn into practice, whether for their businesses or personal financial goals.”
The event will feature two expert panelists with a wealth of knowledge in the financial sector.
John Felton, Chief Executive Officer of Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, will share his extensive experience in asset growth and community-focused financial leadership. Felton, a 2013 New York Credit Union Association Hall of Fame inductee, has been instrumental in expanding Southern Chautauqua FCU’s reach and assets. Under his leadership, the credit union’s assets grew from $10 million to more than $150 million, and it achieved CDFI certification. Having grown up in a family where his parents ran the credit union out of their home, Felton has embraced the philosophy of “people helping people.” His insights into managing cash flow, especially in the context of community and credit unions, will offer invaluable knowledge to attendees looking to enhance their financial management.
Emma Steele, a financial representative with Alliance Advisory Group, will also be on the panel. Born and raised in Falconer, Steele is passionate about helping individuals, families, and businesses maximize their financial potential. She focuses on creating personalized strategies for building, maintaining, and protecting wealth, ensuring that her clients’ money is working as hard as possible for them. With a strong background in strategic financial planning, Steele will provide attendees with a clear understanding of how to take control of their finances and create pathways for sustainable growth.
Following the panel discussion, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can engage directly with the experts. Whether you’re a young professional, an entrepreneur starting or growing a business, or someone interested in improving your personal finances, this event will feature practical tips and tools that span the spectrum and get right at the heart of what interests you most.
