(WNY News Now) – A routine warrant arrest in Jamestown resulted in additional narcotics charges after officers discovered methamphetamines and other controlled substances.

Jamestown, N.Y. – In the early hours of October 23, 2024, Jamestown Police officers executed an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Teresa A. Rooney near E. 6th Street and Pine Street. The arrest stemmed from an active warrant issued by the Jamestown City Court.

At approximately 2:41 A.M., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd platoon located Rooney and placed her into custody without incident. During a search conducted as part of the arrest, authorities discovered methamphetamines and unidentified pills, which were determined to be another controlled substance.

Rooney now faces two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree in addition to the original charges related to her warrant. She was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she remains held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
