(WNY News Now) – A Lockport resident faces felony drug charges following a Niagara County Drug Task Force investigation that led to his arrest on October 15, 2024.

LOCKPORT, NY — Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti has announced the arrest of 42-year-old Jason M. Despaw of Lockport, NY, on multiple felony drug charges. The arrest, executed by the Niagara County Drug Task Force on October 15, followed an extensive investigation into alleged narcotics distribution in the area.

Despaw faces two felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, as well as two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. Authorities report that these charges reflect a proactive effort to curb the distribution of illegal drugs in Niagara County. Despaw was taken into custody and transported to Niagara County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment.

The Niagara County Drug Task Force led the investigation, with Deputy D. Ganz assigned to the case under the supervision of Captain Thomas Huff.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
