(WNY News Now) – As the number of individuals living with dementia continues to rise, the Alzheimer’s Association’s Western New York Chapter is stepping up to provide essential resources.
BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 28, 2024) — The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will offer a free education program to help caregivers manage the assets of people living with dementia at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, at the offices of Southern Tier Healthcare System at 150 N. Union in Olean, N.Y.
“If you or someone you know is facing Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or another chronic illness, it’s never too early to put financial plans in place,” says Andrea Koch, director of community engagement for the WNY Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
The evidence-based class, “Managing Money: A Caregiver’s Guide to Finances,” helps caregivers understand the costs of caregiving and the benefits of early planning, and teaches them how to start a conversation about finances, assess financial and legal needs, avoid financial abuse and fraud, and find support when needed.
Individuals can register online at bit.ly/OleanManagingMoneyNov24 or by calling 800.272.3900.
