(WNY News Now) – A juvenile male has been charged following an investigation into a threat against Starpoint Central School District.

Pendleton, NY – A 17-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a threat made against the Starpoint Central School District, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday. The investigation was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Bureau, resulting in the juvenile being charged with Making a Threat of Mass Harm.

According to Sheriff Michael Filicetti, the teen was issued an appearance ticket and referred to Niagara County Juvenile Probation. In response to the severity of the incident, authorities applied for a Temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order (TERPO), aimed at mitigating potential dangers.

Investigators G. Willis, E. Finley, and Birmingham, under the supervision of Chief Schultz, led the investigation. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
