(WNY News Now) – Lockport, NY – On November 22, 2024, Edwin J. Livingston, 39, from the Town of Lockport, was arrested on felony charges following a criminal investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau. The charges stemmed from an incident involving a juvenile victim.

Livingston has been charged with one count of Rape in the First Degree (B-felony), one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree (B-felony), and one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (D-felony). These charges follow the Sheriff’s Office investigation into the alleged assault, which began after a complaint was filed involving the juvenile.

Sheriff Michael Filicetti confirmed that Livingston was taken into custody and transported to the Niagara County Correctional Facility. He remains in custody pending his arraignment, which will occur at a later time. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released when necessary.

Investigator Justin Birmingham is leading the investigation, with supervision by Lieutenant Gieseler.

Authorities encourage anyone with additional information related to this case to come forward. As the investigation progresses, updates will be provided as deemed appropriate.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
