(WNY News Now) – BARKER, NY – A residential fire erupted early Sunday morning on the 1700 block of East Avenue, leaving a home fully engulfed in flames.

At approximately 7:56 AM on December 1, Niagara County Emergency Communications received a 911 report of the fire. Two adults inside the single-family home managed to escape unscathed before flames consumed the structure.

Fire crews from Barker Volunteer Fire Company, along with units from Olcott, Lockport, and Hartland, swiftly responded to the scene. The responders worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, eventually extinguishing it after an extended effort. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the displaced residents, while the Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit commenced an inquiry into the fire’s cause.
