(WNY News Now) – A domestic incident on the south side of Jamestown led to the arrest of a local resident with multiple outstanding warrants.
JAMESTOWN, NY – A domestic disturbance escalated into an arrest on the evening of December 7, 2024, when officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s second platoon responded to reports of an unwanted person outside a residence on the city’s south side.
Upon arrival at approximately 8:14 p.m., officers encountered 34-year-old Amra Y. Cuhel sitting in her vehicle near the property. Investigations revealed that Cuhel had multiple active warrants, including three arrest warrants and a bench warrant issued by the Jamestown City Court.
While at the scene, Cuhel allegedly made verbal threats to a female victim, who was protected by a full stay-away order of protection against her. This violation added to the list of charges against Cuhel, including Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree (a felony) and Harassment in the 2nd Degree.
Cuhel was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city jail. She remains held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
