(WNY News Now) – Congressman Nick Langworthy announces USDA funding to support local entrepreneurship and job growth in Cattaraugus County.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded a $50,000 Rural Business Development Grant to the Olean Business Development Corporation. This funding will support the fourth year of the Corporation’s accelerator program, which provides technical assistance, training opportunities, and other critical resources for existing businesses in Cattaraugus County.

“This investment will give small businesses in Cattaraugus County the tools and training they need to grow and succeed,” said Congressman Langworthy. “By supporting initiatives like the Olean Business Development Corporation’s accelerator program, we’re investing in local entrepreneurs and fostering job creation. These efforts are needed now more than ever to build a stronger and more resilient local economy.”

Rural Business Development Grants aim to promote economic development and job creation projects that benefit rural communities and small businesses. According to the USDA, this investment will create 20 new jobs and support ten existing jobs in Cattaraugus County.

The program will operate out of The Hub, located within the Olean Business Development Corporation, and will provide vital guidance and resources to participating businesses.
