(WNY News Now) – Ellicott, NY – A Fredonia woman faces burglary and petit larceny charges following an alleged shoplifting incident that escalated due to her prior ban from the store.
On December 9th, the Town of Ellicott Police Department responded to a shoplifting complaint. Jennifer L. Fain, 39, was accused of taking items without paying. During the investigation, authorities discovered Fain had previously been trespassed from the store, elevating the incident to a third-degree burglary charge under New York law.
Fain was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to address the charges in the Town of Ellicott Court on a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
