(WNY News Now) – A 46-year-old Ellery man faces criminal trespass charges after reportedly violating a prior ban from the Fluvanna Library.
ELLICOTT, NY — Tobin S. Hagstrom, 46, of Ellery, was charged with third-degree criminal trespass on December 9, 2024, after an incident at the Fluvanna Library.
According to the Town of Ellicott Police, Hagstrom attempted to enter the library despite a previously issued trespass notice prohibiting him from being on the property. Authorities allege that Hagstrom tried to gain entry through the enclosed vestibule but was stopped by a library employee who recognized him.
Police responded to the scene and arrested Hagstrom, transporting him to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to address the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
