(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Salamanca led to the arrest of a Cattaraugus woman wanted on an active bench warrant.

SALAMANCA, NY — In the early hours of Sunday, December 22, 2024, Crystal M. Lore, 31, of Cattaraugus, NY, was apprehended during a traffic stop on Clinton Street in Salamanca. The stop, initiated for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations at approximately 1:43 a.m., revealed Lore had an active bench warrant issued by Salamanca City Court.

Sheriff Eric A. Butler reported the arrest, stating that Lore was taken into custody without incident. She was subsequently handed over to the Salamanca City Police Department for arraignment on the warrant, listed under New York State Criminal Procedure Law 530.70-3.

The case remains under the jurisdiction of Salamanca City Court, where further proceedings are expected. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
