(WNY News Now) – A late-night barn fire in the Town of Stockton has been ruled accidental, with investigators identifying a heat lamp as the cause of the devastating blaze.
STOCKTON, NY — On Sunday, December 22, 2024, at approximately 11:07 PM, the Stockton Fire Department, along with multiple mutual aid units, responded to a reported barn fire at 6258 S Stockton Cassadaga Road. Firefighters battled the flames, but the structure sustained significant damage, and a horse along with several rabbits tragically perished.
Following the extinguishment of the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team arrived on the scene to determine the cause. Investigators concluded that the fire originated from a heat lamp that had come into contact with combustible materials. The fire was officially ruled accidental.
No human injuries were reported in the incident.
