(WNY News Now) – A domestic dispute on Jamestown’s North Side escalated into violence, leading to serious injuries and charges for a 56-year-old man.

JAMESTOWN, NY – On December 24, 2024, at approximately 12:30 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon responded to a residence on the city’s North Side following a report of a domestic dispute.

The investigation revealed that Daric Harris, a 56-year-old male, had assaulted another man in the household with a shotgun. The victim sustained a severe laceration and a fractured forearm in the attack. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment and is expected to recover.

Harris, who was found to be illegally in possession of the shotgun due to his criminal history, was arrested at the scene. He faces charges of first-degree assault, a felony involving physical injury caused by a weapon, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Harris was held in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
