(WNY News Now) – A man was injured in an early morning shooting on East Fayette Street. Authorities are urging the community to share any information that could aid the investigation.

SYRACUSE, NY — On Saturday, December 28, 2024, at approximately 1:04 a.m., Syracuse Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of East Fayette Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 51-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his arm and hip.

The victim was promptly transported to University Hospital for medical treatment. Police confirmed that his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities have launched a full investigation into the shooting and are actively seeking leads. The Syracuse Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact their Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
