(WNY News Now) – A disturbance in a Dunkirk business escalated into violence, leaving a police officer injured and the suspect facing felony charges.

DUNKIRK, NY — On New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025, at approximately 4:55 PM, Dunkirk police responded to reports of a disorderly individual at a business on the 200 block of Central Avenue. Upon arrival, officers encountered Kenneth Mosley, 42, of Jamestown, who was reportedly causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.
As officers attempted to resolve the situation, Mosley became combative. Following a brief struggle, he was taken into custody and transported to Dunkirk Police Headquarters for processing.
While in the secure jail facility, Mosley escalated his aggression, spitting a mixture of blood and saliva into an officer’s eye. The injured officer was treated at a local hospital and later released.
Mosley now faces multiple charges, including:
- Aggravated Harassment of an Employee by an Inmate (Class E Felony)
- Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
- Disorderly Conduct (Violation)
Authorities noted that Mosley is currently on supervised probation. He was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail on $20,000 bail.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
