(WNY News Now) – OLEAN, NY – A large garage fire spread to multiple structures early this morning in Olean, prompting a quick response from local fire departments. The City of Olean Fire Department was dispatched at 4:38 AM on January 10, 2025, to reports of multiple buildings on fire near 212 King Street.
Upon arrival at 4:42 AM, fire units found a large garage behind 218 King Street fully engulfed in flames, with the fire beginning to spread to an adjacent garage. Firefighters immediately attacked the fire with multiple 2-1/2” hose lines to contain the blaze. Within approximately 40 minutes, the fire was under control, with additional efforts focused on preventing further damage to the neighboring structures. By 5:20 AM, the fire was considered fully controlled.
Assisting the City of Olean Fire Department at the scene were the Olean Police Department, Trans Am Ambulance Service, and the Portville Fire Department’s air truck. Allegany and Weston Mills Volunteer Fire Departments stood by for additional support during the incident.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
