(WNY News Now) – A structure fire in the Town of Busti on January 9th prompted a swift response from multiple fire departments, resulting in the fire being knocked down within 15 minutes of arrival.

On January 9th, at approximately 12:45 PM, the Lakewood Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the area of North Avenue, located in the Town of Busti. The first responding unit, C-373, arrived on scene shortly after and immediately established command. Firefighters reported heavy fire involvement with exposures and called for a second alarm to ensure sufficient resources were available for the incident.

Engine 371 (E-371) was the next to arrive and quickly deployed two lines. Their efforts were focused on protecting nearby structures from the fire and working to extinguish the flames. In addition, Engine 372 (E-372) arrived and took charge of establishing a hydrant supply to ensure adequate water flow throughout the operation.

Within 15 minutes of arriving on scene, the fire was reported to be knocked down, thanks to the coordinated efforts of the responding crews. The fire was contained without incident, and no injuries were reported at the scene.
The Lakewood Fire Department was assisted by fire crews from the Busti and Celoron Fire Departments. In addition to firefighting operations, the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, Chautauqua County Emergency Services, Chautauqua County EMS, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Team all provided support.
The fire scene was cleared and fully secured by 3:34 PM.
