(WNY News Now) – A 38-year-old Allegany woman faces multiple charges after authorities found her vehicle partially blocking a lane of traffic on Route 430 in Chautauqua.
On January 12, 2025, at approximately 6:23 p.m., deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle obstructing traffic on Route 430 in the Town of Chautauqua. Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle parked partially in the roadway and located the operator, identified as 38-year-old Rhonda M. Geyer of Allegany, New York, a short distance away.
Following an investigation, deputies determined that Geyer had been operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI Per Se, and Parking on a Highway.
After processing, Geyer was released with traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
