(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, N.Y. – Anita D. Miller, 41, of Jamestown, NY, has pleaded guilty to six counts of mail theft and two counts of delaying mail during her tenure as a postal employee, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced. The charges, presented before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo, carry a potential penalty of up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Miller admitted to stealing gift cards and cash from mailed envelopes on six occasions in February and March 2022. Additionally, she delayed the delivery of mail on two occasions in March 2022.

The plea is the result of an investigation by U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, under the direction of Matthew Modafferi, Special Agent-in-Charge Northeast Field Office.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Vilardo.
