(WNY News Now) – A 46-year-old Salamanca resident was taken into custody on January 15, 2025, following the execution of a felony bench warrant by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 15, 2025, at approximately 11:58 p.m., deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Darby M. Monahan, 46, at a residence located on Erie Street in Salamanca, NY. The arrest was made without incident.

Monahan was wanted on an active felony bench warrant issued by Salamanca Town Court. After being taken into custody, Monahan was transported to Little Valley Town Court for arraignment.

During the court proceedings, Monahan was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. He will remain in custody awaiting further court appearances related to the charges outlined in the warrant.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
