(WNY News Now) – A domestic incident in Jamestown on January 20, 2025, led to the arrests of two individuals on assault and criminal contempt charges.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On January 20, 2025, at approximately 6:46 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a residence on the south side of the city following reports of a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a visible facial injury. The victim alleged that he had been struck in the face by 30-year-old Kayleigh McNiff of Jamestown. McNiff was immediately taken into custody and charged with Assault in the 3rd Degree.
During the investigation, officers learned that the male victim, identified as 31-year-old Mario Castro, also of Jamestown, had an active order of protection prohibiting him from being at the residence. The order also extended to several juvenile victims residing at the address.
Castro was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree for violating the protective order.
Both McNiff and Castro were detained at the Jamestown City Jail and are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
