(WNY News Now) – Authorities responded to a McKinley Road residence in Westfield on Wednesday evening after reports of a man threatening others with a weapon, leading to an arrest without incident.

WESTFIELD, NY — On January 22, 2025, at approximately 5:02 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from other law enforcement agencies, responded to a reported altercation involving a weapon at a residence on McKinley Road in the Town of Westfield.

Upon arrival, authorities learned that 39-year-old Jonathon A. Wilson had allegedly threatened others with a weapon and barricaded himself inside the residence. Deputies initiated verbal communication with Wilson, successfully de-escalating the situation. He complied with law enforcement commands and exited the home without further incident.

Following an investigation, Wilson was charged with Menacing in the 2nd Degree (PL 120.14[1]) and Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree (PL 135.05). He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment in Westfield Town Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
