(WNY News Now) – A cigarette igniting combustible material on a front porch was identified as the cause of a residential fire on Pearl Street in Forestville on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

On Saturday morning, January 25, 2025, at approximately 10:12 a.m., the Forestville Fire Department, with assistance from mutual aid, responded to a residential fire on Pearl Street in Forestville. Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the flames, preventing further damage to the property.

Following the containment of the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team arrived on the scene to assess the incident and determine its cause. After a thorough investigation, officials concluded that the fire originated on the home’s front porch, caused by a cigarette coming into contact with combustible materials.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
