(WNY News Now) – Authorities in Cattaraugus County have arrested a 42-year-old Salamanca man following a domestic disturbance involving gunfire and property damage.
SALAMANCA, NY — Jason M. McGraw, 42, of Salamanca, was taken into custody on January 25, 2025, after deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident on Erie Street.
Deputies were dispatched to the residence at approximately 6:39 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival and investigation, authorities determined that McGraw had discharged four rifle rounds near the victim’s head and later broke a neighbor’s window using a whiskey bottle.
McGraw was arrested and processed at the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges, including:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree
- Criminal Use of a Firearm in the 2nd Degree
- Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree
- Menacing in the 2nd Degree
- Use of a Dangerous Weapon
Following his arrest, McGraw was arraigned at the Town of Great Valley Court, where he was released under supervision. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Salamanca Court at a later date for further proceedings.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
