(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – Javonte Holloway, 23, of Lockport, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti, Holloway sold significant quantities of heroin, fentanyl, and acetyl fentanyl in Lockport. His drug sales included counterfeit hydrocodone pills, often referred to as “percs” or “M-30s.” Between July and December 2022, he regularly sold these pills to a Lockport couple with a young child.

On December 2, 2022, Lockport Police responded to an apartment, where they found the couple’s toddler unresponsive. The child was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital and later pronounced dead. Law enforcement recovered drug paraphernalia, including several straws with residue and four blue pills marked “M-30,” from the child’s bedroom. Lab tests confirmed the presence of fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl.

Further investigation led authorities to Holloway’s residence, where they seized 27 additional blue pills marked “M-30.” Testing confirmed these also contained fentanyl.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the Niagara County Drug Task Force, and the Lockport Police Department.

Holloway is scheduled for sentencing on June 10, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
