(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of two Jamestown residents on multiple drug-related charges, including criminal possession of controlled substances and criminal impersonation.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Second Platoon and K-9 Unit stopped a vehicle near North Main Street and West Oak Hill Road on January 26 at approximately 12:36 a.m. During the investigation, a passenger, identified as 36-year-old Dioscelin E. Rodriguez, allegedly provided officers with a false identity to evade arrest on outstanding warrants. Officers confirmed her identity and took her into custody.

A search of Rodriguez’s personal property revealed methadone, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, prompting a further search of the vehicle. During the interaction, over an ounce of individually packaged cocaine reportedly fell from the possession of another passenger, 30-year-old Jonathan Gonzolez Galarza.

Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Rodriguez faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (two counts) and Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree, along with her outstanding warrant. Galarza was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 4th Degrees.

Both suspects are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
