(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of two individuals on narcotics and weapons charges in the early hours of January 30.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 12:40 a.m. near Barrett Avenue and Harrison Street. During the investigation, they discovered that passenger Nicole A. Reynolds, 32, had an outstanding warrant issued by the department. Officers also observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search led to the discovery of methamphetamine, a digital scale, and metal knuckles in the possession of the driver, 36-year-old George W. Edington III. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.
Edington faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, due to a prior conviction for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree. He is also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.
Reynolds was held pending arraignment on her outstanding warrant. Both individuals are scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
