(WNY News Now) – HARRISBURG, PA — February 4, 2025 — A Bucks County firearms dealer faces multiple charges for allegedly supplying guns to a convicted felon, following a months-long investigation by the Attorney General’s Philadelphia Gun Violence Task Force.

Scott Liebowitz, 31, of Feasterville-Trevose, a Federal Firearms Licensee, has been charged with two counts of Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA) for illegally transferring firearms. Additional charges include conspiracy, corrupt organizations, and unlawful use of a communication facility.

Investigators allege that Liebowitz sold two handguns to Nicholas Mimoso, a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms. According to the criminal complaint, the pair used a third party to complete the official purchase, after which Liebowitz allegedly provided the firearms directly to Mimoso.

“This is another example of the excellent collaborative work being done by our Philadelphia Gun Violence Task Force,” Attorney General Sunday added. “In the past year, the Gun Violence Task Force has seized hundreds of illegally possessed and transferred firearms.”

Liebowitz and Mimoso were arraigned last week. Liebowitz’s bail was set at $100,000, while Mimoso, already facing drug and firearm trafficking charges from 2024, remains in custody with bail set at $275,000. Authorities previously recovered 11 firearms and two illegal firearm switches in Mimoso’s prior case.

The prosecution is being handled by Senior Deputy Attorney General Maggie Hayes-Oberst. All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
