(WNY News Now) – BROCTON, NY – A Brocton man was arrested Tuesday night following an altercation that led to property damage.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance in the Village of Brocton on February 4, 2025, at approximately 9:36 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies identified 26-year-old Michael Rodriguez Hernandez as a suspect.

Following an investigation, authorities determined that Hernandez had intentionally damaged another person’s property during the altercation. He was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and Menacing in the Third Degree.

Hernandez was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Pomfret Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
