(WNY News Now) – Angela M. Seward, 50, of Little Valley, was arrested on February 12, 2025, after an investigation into the death of a domesticated cat.

On February 12, 2025, at approximately 10:00 AM, Angela M. Seward, 50, of Little Valley, New York, was arrested following an investigation into the death of a domesticated cat. The arrest came after deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) determined that Seward had violated the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law Section 353, which prohibits the torturing, injuring, or failing to provide adequate sustenance for animals.

The investigation, which led to the arrest, uncovered that Seward’s actions had directly contributed to the cat’s death. Authorities charged Seward with Animal Cruelty and Failure to Provide Sustenance, both serious offenses under state law designed to protect animals from harm and neglect.

Following her arrest, Seward was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, where she was processed. She was subsequently released with an appearance ticket. Seward is expected to appear before the Town of Little Valley Court at a later date to answer the charges.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
