(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Two suspects were taken into custody following a burglary investigation at a southside residence on Tuesday evening.

On February 13, 2025, at approximately 6:10 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon, along with officers participating in a GIVE (Gun Involved Violence Elimination) detail, responded to a report of a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male suspect, later identified as 49-year-old Patrick J. Dhondt, jumping from a second-story window behind the home. Dhondt was quickly apprehended. Inside the residence, officers located 36-year-old Katherine P. Hartman, who was taken into custody without incident.

Dhondt was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, while Hartman was charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Both were transported to the Jamestown City Jail and are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
