(WNY News Now) – Ellicott, NY – A Sinclairville woman was arrested on February 13, 2025, following an altercation with officers during a response to an unregistered vehicle complaint.
Cassondra L. Knuth, 33, was charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child after allegedly refusing to comply with police commands and engaging in a physical confrontation. The incident unfolded when Town of Ellicott police arrived at the scene and identified Knuth as the driver of an unregistered vehicle.
According to police reports, Knuth became disorderly upon encountering officers and was advised that she was under arrest. However, she allegedly resisted arrest and physically struggled with law enforcement personnel. During the altercation, a child under the age of 17 was present, placing the child in harm’s way.
Knuth was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
