(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties, effective until 1:00 AM EST on Tuesday, February 18.
Lake effect snow and strong winds will impact the region, with additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches expected in areas experiencing persistent snowfall. Wind gusts could reach 40 to 50 mph, leading to blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Motorists should be prepared for slippery road conditions and rapidly changing visibility due to blowing snow. Travel may become hazardous, especially in areas experiencing heavy snowfall.
The NWS advises residents to stay updated on conditions and submit snow reports through the NWS website or social media.
