(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties until 10:00 AM EST today.

The advisory, issued at 3:01 AM EST, warns of lake effect snow with an additional one to two inches of accumulation in the most persistent snow bands. Motorists should expect slippery, snow-covered roads, which could make the Friday morning commute hazardous.

Residents are urged to exercise caution while traveling, as untreated roads, sidewalks, and driveways may become icy and slippery, increasing the risk of falls and accidents. The NWS advises drivers to slow down, allow extra time, and remain alert for changing road conditions.
