(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY — A 51-year-old Jamestown man, Michael J. Hackmer, was arrested early Sunday, February 23, after being accused of assault and endangering a child during a domestic dispute.

At approximately 12:17 A.M. on February 23, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s third platoon responded to a call regarding a domestic dispute at a Westside residence. Upon arrival, officers learned that Hackmer had assaulted an individual and endangered a person under the age of 17 during the incident.

Hackmer, a Jamestown resident, was arrested and charged with Assault in the Third Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
