(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown woman is facing charges of criminal mischief after an incident at the Jamestown City Jail early on February 23, 2025. Cameo L. Stockwell, 29, was held in custody when she allegedly caused damage to jail property.
At approximately 3:53 a.m., Stockwell reportedly ripped an outlet cover off a wall inside her cell, breaking it into pieces. The damage to the outlet cover and the jail’s infrastructure led to the charge of Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
The property in question was owned by the City of Jamestown. Authorities have stated that criminal mischief charges are applicable in cases where an individual intentionally damages property without lawful authority, a charge that Stockwell now faces due to her actions.
Stockwell’s arrest followed her initial detention in the city jail, and she was held pending arraignment. The case is set to be heard in Jamestown City Court, where Stockwell will appear at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
