(WNY News Now) – CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. — An early morning fire on Willow Tree Point prompted a response from Chautauqua Fire and mutual aid crews on Monday, February 24.
Firefighters arrived at approximately 4:22 a.m. to find a residential structure engulfed in flames. Crews worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire before fire investigators assessed the scene.
Following an investigation, officials determined that the fire was caused by compromised electrical heat tape on the exterior of the residence. No injuries were reported.
